If you’re passionate about transforming interior spaces into functional and aesthetically pleasing environments, and you have a creative and detail-oriented mindset, then pursuing an interior design degree could be a great fit for you.

The Interior Design program at our college offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge and practical skills to equip students with the necessary tools to become professional interior designers. The program integrates Nigerian history and cultural context to create designs that reflect the country’s unique heritage while also promoting sustainable design practices.

Throughout the three-year program, students will learn the fundamental principles of interior design, including design communication techniques, drawing and drafting, materials and finishes, furniture design, and construction. They will also study the history of Nigerian interior design and the elements and principles of design that form the foundation of successful design practices.

In addition to theoretical modules, students will participate in studio courses where they will apply their learning to practical design projects. These studio courses will cover topics such as interior lighting design, 3D visualization techniques, interior design for commercial and residential spaces, environmental systems and controls, and exhibition and set design.

The curriculum also includes courses on sustainable design principles, project management, entrepreneurship, cultural context, and research methods in interior design. Students will have the opportunity to develop advanced digital design techniques and create a portfolio that showcases their work. They will also complete an industry internship, providing them with real-world experience and connections within the interior design industry.

Interior design is more than just picking out colors and furniture. It involves creating functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing spaces that meet the needs of the people who use them.
