If you have a passion for photography and want to develop your skills in capturing and editing digital images, a degree in Digital Photography can be the perfect choice for you. The course will provide you with the necessary technical and creative expertise to pursue a successful career in the field of photography, whether as a professional photographer or as a freelancer.

This three-year course in Photography is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of photography as an art form and profession. The course is tailored towards developing students’ skills in different areas of photography such as street photography, fashion photography, portrait photography, and landscape photography. Students will also learn about the history of photography in Nigeria and globally, principles of photography such as lighting, camera angles, ISO, camera types, and digital trends and advancements in the field.

Students will be assessed through a combination of practical projects, written assignments, and class participation. The practical projects will provide students with the opportunity to apply the technical and creative skills they have learned in the course. The written assignments will assess students’ understanding of the history, principles, and specializations in photography. Class participation will evaluate students’ engagement in class discussions and activities.

Digital photography allows for experimentation and creative expression. With digital editing software, photographers can manipulate their images to create unique and captivating visuals.

Entry requirements

We are delighted that you are considering one of our courses at ICCA. To ensure that you meet the entry requirements, kindly take note of the following:

  1. Candidates must possess a minimum of five credits at the O’level, including Mathematics and English, which are compulsory subjects.

  2. In addition to meeting the academic requirements, candidates will be required to attend an admission interview. The interview will provide an opportunity for our admissions team to assess your suitability for the program and determine your potential for success in your chosen field.

  3. Candidates with at least five years of industry experience in their chosen field, will qualify for automatic placement into the second year of their chosen program. Such candidates must display exceptional talent, skills, and a substantial portfolio. Our admissions team will consider your experience, talent, and skills alongside your portfolio during the admission process.

Note: The elective courses could be pulled from other disciplines such as, Creative Entrepreneurship, Drama and Theatre Arts, Interior Design, Film-making or any other relevant course that the student may choose in consultation with their academic advisor

How you study

Fees

€3,850 per academic academic year. 

Note: 70% of fees must be paid before commencement of intended program.

Some career opportunities for graduates of our Digital Photography program include: commercial photography, fashion photography, wedding photography, fine art photography, photojournalism, and more. Graduates will also be ale to work for major publications, advertising agencies, fashion houses, and photography studios.
