The Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design is a three-year degree program designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and expertise required to excel in the dynamic and exciting world of visual communication. The program offers an immersive and comprehensive education that encompasses the core principles and practices of graphic design. Students will learn to analyze and solve design problems, create effective visual solutions, and communicate ideas with clarity and impact.

Throughout the program, students will engage in a range of studio-based and theoretical courses that provide a solid foundation in design principles, typography, digital media, branding and identity, design for print, web design, packaging design, motion graphics, and more. The curriculum is carefully crafted to integrate the relevant history of graphic design in Nigeria and the African continent, while also keeping abreast of contemporary trends and technologies.

Students will have the opportunity to develop their creative and critical thinking skills, explore diverse media, and engage in collaborative and individual projects that reflect real-world scenarios. The program fosters an environment of experimentation, innovation, and risk-taking, while also emphasizing the importance of ethical and professional conduct.

The demand for graphic designers is expected to grow steadily over the next decade, as more companies recognize the importance of having strong branding and marketing materials.

Entry requirements

We are delighted that you are considering one of our courses at ICCA. To ensure that you meet the entry requirements, kindly take note of the following:

  1. Candidates must possess a minimum of five credits at the O’level, including Mathematics and English, which are compulsory subjects.

  2. In addition to meeting the academic requirements, candidates will be required to attend an admission interview. The interview will provide an opportunity for our admissions team to assess your suitability for the program and determine your potential for success in your chosen field.

  3. Candidates with at least five years of industry experience in their chosen field, will qualify for automatic placement into the second year of their chosen program. Such candidates must display exceptional talent, skills, and a substantial portfolio. Our admissions team will consider your experience, talent, and skills alongside your portfolio during the admission process.

Note: The elective courses could be pulled from other disciplines such as Interior Design, Digital Photography, Creative Entrepreneurship, Fashion Design or any other relevant course that the student may choose in consultation with their academic advisor.

Fees

€3,850 per academic academic year. 

Note: 70% of fees must be paid before commencement of intended program.
